Personal Mission Statement
I am a Student Affairs Professional who strives to be continuously engaged in all aspects of service to my community, but specifically in the area of economic inequality and economic development. My goal is to create a learning-environment for my students and community members so that we may grow in our understanding of the needs of our surrounding community as well as those of the global community, ultimately taking action towards creating positive change. I seek to create opportunities for students to participate and engage in service-learning that will enhance their academic development and promote life-long learning and leadership. I am committed to ensuring that my students develop holistically, taking into consideration their personal, emotional, spiritual, and cultural needs with a balance of challenge, support, and readiness.
About Me

My name is Priscilla Moreno and I am currently a second year College Student Affairs (CSA) Master's Degree Candidate at The Pennsylvania State University, graduating in May. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Florida in May of 2009 majoring in Sociology with a minor in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences. I am originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and I love the beach and spending time outdoors! I have a younger brother whom I love dearly and a mother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends who have been very supportive of me throughout my educational, personal, and professional journey. I am a member of Gamma Eta Sorority, Inc., a Hispanic-based multicultural sorority and attribute much of my learning prior to graduate school to the experiences I gained during my time as an undergraduate sister.

My two-year assistantship at The Pennsylvania State University has been with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life where the majority of my time was spent serving as the advisor for the Multicultural Greek Council, Greek Week, and the Order of Omega as well as planning and implementing various Leadership Programs for our students. During my time at Penn State, I have also actively been involved in shaping my educational experiences by searching for opportunities that complement my assistantship specifically in the area of Service and Service-Learning. I have had the privilege of working with Upward Bound, a College Access program for high school students, Service Trips Planning Team responsible for the development and implementation of Penn State service trips, and have served as a research assistant as it relates to a service-learning initiative taking place on behalf of National Council of La Raza (NCLR). More in-depth descriptions of these experiences can be found under the "Student Affairs Work Experience" tab. Looking toward the future, I am searching for professional opportunities in the areas of Service and Service-Learning, Leadership Development, Greek Life, and Multicultural Affairs. I hope this E-Portfolio provides you with the opportunity to gain a basic understanding of who I am as a person as well as a professional.
